State Level Research Methodology Workshop in Social Sciences
for the registered Ph.D. Scholars

In order to raise the quality of doctoral research work in the various disciplines of social science in North-East India, the North East Monitoring Committee of the ICSSR had suggested in its earlier meeting to organize training-cum- research methodology courses in the region with ICSSR support to give basic training on different facets, skills required for social science research in the region. In these workshops writing skills, computer work, survey design, and qualitative assessment will be given to the doctoral research scholars in six different states of North-East India. In this regard, ICSSR-NERC had organized during 2009-2010, four State Level  research methodology workshops each for 2 days in Rajiv Gandhi University (Itanagar), Nagaland University (Mokokchung), Manipur University (Imphal) and Mizoram Univesity (Aizawl) and the response in all these four Universities were huge and most of the research scholars who participated in the workshop expressed their satisfaction over the content of the workshop and desired that such workshops should be organized periodically all over Northeastern region.  For this year 2010-2011 we would like to organize 4-day State Level Research Methodology workshop in Social Sciences for the registered Ph.D. scholars in 3 states in North-East India and we will have it in Gangtok(Sikkim), Agartala(Tripura) and Dibrugarh (Assam). The participants for this workshop will be registered doctoral scholars of the respective states wherein this workshop will be held. The tentative schedule and budget for this programme are:
