One Week Research Methodology Workshop on Impact Evaluation of Public Welfare Programs

Venue :Conference Hall, ICSSR-NERC, Shillong

Date:   27th May – 31st May, 2024 (offline Mode)

Concept Note

Presently, the Central and state governments are implementing a large number of Public Welfare programs (such as Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM UjjwalaYojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana ) to improve the quality of lives of the citizens, particularly the poor and marginalized sections. It is being increasingly felt that the outcome of these programs need to be scientifically monitored. Effective monitoring and impact assessment is fundamental to the success and further improvement of these programs. In the North-East, in addition to the centrally sponsored public welfare programs, respective state governments also undertake a good number of public welfare programs.

It is being realized that there is a dearth of well-trained and capable researchers/ development practitioners to undertake evaluation and impact assessment of such programs.  In this context, ICSSR NERC proposes to conduct One-week Research Methodology Course on the Impact Evaluation of Public Welfare Programs. The purpose of the present research workshop is to help researchers acquire a knack for impact evaluation by familiarizing them with different methods of impact evaluation and providing them with necessary hands-on training.
